Welcome back to The Burnout Doctor Podcast, I’m your host Dr. Jessica Louie. Today, we are talking about what burnout may be costing you. Burnout is costing your: Make you utterly exhausted.

I was mentally and physically fatigued – go back to episode 6 on stress vs. burnout on how I transitioned from tired to fatigued. My mental health was overloaded. I needed to clear the mental clutter and lighten up my mental load. There were Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health components I needed to focus on.

Burnout is costing you: Impair job performance.

You may feel Distracted. You may have Less productivity. You may Not engaged with work and with work colleagues. You may have Decreased self-efficacy – doubt your work is really making a difference

Can go back to giving gratitude and reflecting intentionally on each day because even though day didn’t go as planned, we can always find little things that did go well and gave us a boost of positivity. These are the things we are grateful for.

 And maybe you feel trapped in your job – I talk to a lot of pharmacists and healthcare professionals who are feeling this currently. And because financial well-being is not a focus, my clients feel even MORE trapped by the financial constraint of paying bills. This goes back to decluttering and simplifying and then getting financial house in order.

Burnout is costing your: Sabotage personal life – relationships.

You may be taking out emotions on those around us – those people we love or who support us. I know I did this. I was angry all the time. I lashed out at family members. This could mean not having the energy to go out to coffee or meet for lunch, dinner or brunch. Or feeling mentally overloaded that you couldn’t possibly plan a brunch together or a holiday party with friends. Life is just getting in the way
