Step 1: Set the tone for your day. Ask yourself what you’re excited about today. Acknowledge the challenge for today. Build joy from community by spreading joy to others with a note, gift or thank you via hugs, notecards, audio message or text messages.
Step 2: Change have to into get to language when talking. We don’t have to do anything. We get to (or choose to) do the things we do in life.
Step 3: Stop dwelling on past mistakes or failures. Focus on the present moment. What opportunity do you have here and now to choose joy?
Step 4: Reward yourself. This is your built in white space. You can choose to do what you want to reward yourself. Maybe read a book, watch tv, eat a dessert, or find quiet time to process and reflect.
