Thank you for sharing your action steps from our last episode on how to start the year with clarity and goal setting. Many of you are taking action by using our complimentary Burnout Starter Kit and Financial Freedom Kit – don’t forget to download yours today! We all write our own stories in our lives and homes. Let’s all bring joy into home and joy into work.

The New Year is here and it’s going to be a great one! If you haven’t taken your CEO time to plan out your year and reverse engineer it into your quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily goals, what are you waiting for? Here is your sign to get it scheduled and have fun on your CEO day!

As you embark on this year, here are 4 ways to reinvent yourself this year. Take what resonates and leave what doesn’t.

Step 1: Declutter your Life.

Now, if you’ve listened to the podcast for a while, you are very familiar with this concept. Let’s declutter areas that are no longer bringing us joy. We can start with the physical clutter and move onto our mental clutter, emotional clutter and spiritual clutter. Any type of clutter weighs us down and holds us back.

If you want more details ways to declutter your life, go back to episode 13 on Decluttering 101, episode 62 on 4 Types of Clutter and episode 126 on owning less stuff.

Step 2: Define your WHY and Core Values.

This is the first step in our Burnout Doctor Method to gain clarity on why you get out of bed in the morning, what your core values are and how they will help you make decisions easier. Now, if you have not written these down in a while, now is the time to revisit them and make sure they are up-to-date and you can easily write them down and say them out loud. The clearer we are in this step, the easier we will know if a decision aligns with our values.

Episode 123 on The Burnout Doctor Method can also help clarify this step.

Step 3: Stop the self-judgement

We are often our own worst critics. Judging ourselves. Judging our thoughts.

Start to realize when you are doing this and shift it into a positive habit or routine. We may need to give ourselves a self-compassion break. You can find out how to do this in Episode 114: How to Have Compassion for Yourself

Step 4: Stop the fear

We often hold ourselves back because of fear of the unknown or the fear of change. Do you have a BIG audacious goal you are working on this year? Say it out loud, tell all your friends and family members, and get an accountability partner to ensure you’ll give it your all.

In my Joy at Work Course, you can get even more advice and action steps on how to make decisions with confidence and how to say no with confidence.
