As you learned in my welcome blog post, I went through my own transformative process. Now I’ve developed a method that helps busy professionals like myself turn their stress and burnt-out lives into intentional and joyful ones. Sound amazing, right? Well, it all starts with 3 simple steps:

  1. Clarify your Why
  2. Simplify your Home and Wardrobe
  3. Align your Work and Life

1. Clarify: Start with WHY

Jessica is a champion of the Start with Why movement first introduced by Simon Sinek. Seeking clarity about your WHY is an important first step in setting intention and shifting your mindset. We’re starting with WHY because very few individuals are able to clearly articulate their WHY.

2. Set the Vision of your Ideal Lifestyle

Jessica is a champion of the KonMari MethodTM and Certified KonMari Consultant. Defining your ideal lifestyle and living environment is the first step in the KonMari Method Process.

This further clarifies your WHY by applying your vision to your home and life.

3. Simplify your Home

As someone who is passionate about helping people simplify so they can lead a life that sparks joy, I truly believe that simplifying your home is the first-step in the journey to an ideal life.

Once we simplify what is closest to us, our home, we are able to more clearly confront every other aspect of our lives, including our wardrobe, work-life alignment, finances, health, hobbies, relationships, spirituality, emotions and community.

This is one of the reasons that the KonMari MethodTM is termed The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.

To simplify your home, we will follow the KonMari MethodTM process and learn how to:

  1. Trust our intuition
  2. Express gratitude
  3. Let go

This will result in an internal transformation you’ll apply to all other aspects of your life.

4. Transform your Wardrobe

Once you simplify your home, it’s now time to transform your wardrobe. Your clothing and outfit choices are a reflection of yourself and can significantly impact your confidence.

My personal philosophy is to emphasis quality over quantity. I also highly encourage you to consider sustainable choices (purchasing secondhand or borrowing) because the fashion industry is the second largest polluter of our environment (behind the oil industry) and we all have an opportunity to contribute positively to our environment.

5. Align your Work & Life

Now that you have clarity of your WHY, have simplified your home and wardrobe, it’s time to better align your work and life together. Your mindset has changed and it’s time to apply to all aspects of your life.

I don’t believe in the term work-life balance. To me, it’s not about balance. It’s about aligning and integrating our work with our life.

Just as with Transforming your Wardrobe, aligning your Work & Life is about Quality > Quantity

Work & Life alignment is less about the hours than about the feelings and overall sense of energy

Stop reacting to life and start generating joy & energy in your life.
